Hey blog! This is already my second to last blog post! Awww... It's sad how close this is coming to an end but, I still have some exciting things to talk about so lets get started! In this post, I will mainly be talking about my CCR creation. I will also be talking about the post-production process. After filming, I stated that I edited on an "easy-to use" app. The app was very easy for editing. That coming from me means a lot because, lets just say I'm not the best at editing. Everything I need was on the app and, I could locate everything quickly. Some images below are examples of me editing!
I haven't finished the CCR yet so, let's go ahead and make a script!
Hey guys! It’s me Brooke, and I am the creator of the film called “The Bull”. This two minute opening to my film is about a hacker in which if you don’t follow the game the bull is playing, something very bad will happen. I know the whole subject of it sounds a little crazy but, when you think about it, there is an important message being portrayed. The message in the film is to be careful with technology, and the way that you use it. I wanted the message to get out there so, I turned a real life issue into a fiction film!
Funny enough, the idea actually came up when my friend got a random message from some rando saying that their name was ****. Since I know it’s not right to say their name, let’s just call him Bob. I had no idea what to make my film bout and spent a whole week figuring it out until we saw bob’s message. Thank you bob, I really appreciate it. Anyways, I wanted to create a mystery film because, that is my favorite type of genre! I looked up some examples including the movie “Murder Mystery”, starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston! I also used slower cuts and regular shaky movements to make the audience feel like they are in the actors positions! Quick question?
How does my product use or Challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?
Well, we all know that it really isn’t that hard to get hacked these days sadly. Remember that whole mono thing….. yeah. My film challenges the normal mystery/horror convention because, normally when you view a horror film it is dark and spooky outside. Unlike the basic way of doing it, I decided to challenge it a little and filmed during the day time! Data charts actually show that bad things happen just as much as in the day time, as they do at night! This film also represents issues in our world nowadays. I haven’t seen a single teenager without a phone in their hands in such a long time. The more they use thier devices, The more likely it is for them to get hacked, and we all know that’s not a good thing.
The next questionI would like to talk about is, How does your product engage with audiences and how will it be the distributed as a real media text?
Well I did have to think this question through a little more but after thinking about it, I mainly want this message to go out to the teen part of the audience. The video game like structure would get the young adults attention more than it would get middle aged people. It is much more likely for a teenager to get hacked simce they are always on their phones rather than an adult. Not only is hacking bad for your device but, it could also lead to mental health issues. Studies show that many teenagers are able to get depression from online bullying. Presenting the issue will help prevent the issue. Wow am I a poet? I will be distributing my film opening on big enough sources like YouTube, and at school events since I’m not quite ready for the theater yet!
The next question is , how did my production skills develop throughout this project?
When beginning this project all I thought was oh my gosh I’m never going to come up with an idea. I was also thinking, how can a teenager be ready to make a small film opening. But, at the very end of the project I realize how much I learned and how many skills I developed. I learned much more about the music, the cuts you should use for my specific genre, more on about the topic, and just overall about 1 billion times more Knowlede than I started wirh.
The last question I will be asking myself is,
How did I integrate technologies?
Even though I thought this would be the toughest part to get through, so many helpful resources help me along the way. My teacher mentioned the app Canva which was literally the lifesaver to my project. I created the opening and ending credits with the app Canva. There are so many animations that you could choose from and I use the typewriter one which made it seem very realistic! Many effects were also available! When editing my project, I used the app, “Splice” instead of the original editing source I listed. This app was very easy and simple to use. It was very basic and I was able to locate everything perfectly fine!
Sadly my project has come to an end after 2 months in the making. Research, designing, and shooting, all made this project possible. Thank you so much for watching my CCR. Have a great one and, try ur best to not get hacked!
